I think its really important to try things out before you just take on one career. We are molded by our experiences in life. Multiple situations and different experiences help us to be the most diversified and most valuable people. Qualities are learned many times.

What a interesting thing to read, and what a small world. Nate sold us a home on Park Hills Dr. in Bloomington back in 2003. He was a nice guy, though at the time I was not in real estate and the whole transaction was a blurr. Since then we have sold that house and moved on to Delaware, and then on to New Jersey, were I work as a Full Time REALTOR myself.

Best of Luck Nate, and work hard.

I think you're absolutely right -- with certain careers, it really helps to show up with backgrounds in something completely different. A competitive sports background certainly equips you with the skills you need to keep fighting for sales as a realtor, especially in an unsteady market. Most people I know who are realtors started as something else, so whenever I meet a brand-new college graduate who is becoming a realtor, it always seems a little perplexing!
