Sandy and John Kohlmoos work as a team. They are brokers with Cushman and Tebbs Sotheby’s International Realty in Bend, Oregon. Powell Butte is their core service area. Both have extensive backgrounds in sales, marketing, and management.
During their years together (they met in an apple orchard in Tasmania in 1974), they have traveled like few others . . . they roamed throughout Asia and the South Pacific, hitchhiked over 10,000 miles exploring Australia, followed the old “hippie trail” overland from Kathmandu to London, studied Spanish in Guatemala, ventured to the end of the Pan American Highway in Chile, bicycled across Europe, spent six months cruising the Caribbean on a 44’ ketch, and worked for Club Mediteranee, (French West Indies, Switzerland, Mexico). . . John was director of tennis and a ski instructor in winter; Sandy taught windsurfing. Those travel experiences, egalitarian philosophies, and near insatiable senses of curiosity enable them to, not only, relate well to their clients, but also go that extra step on their behalf.
Prior to coming to Central Oregon, they lived in Lake Tahoe for almost twenty years, and started their sales careers there in 1982. For the last 10 years in Bend, Sandy’s specialty has been new home sales and high end general real estate. Until 18 months ago, John’s primary focus had been the second home and destination resort market, especially Powell Butte homes. He worked with the start ups and early development of three of Central Oregon’s most prominent golf resort communities—Pronghorn, Tetherow, and Powell Butte homes in Brasada Ranch
In addition to their real estate pursuits, Sandy and John are the proud parents of Cassidy, a junior at UCSB, presently studying in Santiago, Chile for the year; and Cody, a freshman tennis player at the University of Montana in Missoula.
