You do not need to use your brain for your WordPress real estate website. (Part 1)

Cat got your tongue?  Got writer’s cramp? Brain dead?  Here’s the good news:

You don’t have to use your brain to come up with ideas for your real estate blog. Let others use their brains to come up with content.  Here are a few ways to do it.

1.) Steal content from your local board of REALTORS®.  Seriously.  You will get lots of good information that the civilians never get to see.

Simplify and summarize the local board’s articles about loan programs, property tax, or just about any other subject.  Be careful not to plagiarize.  Keep them simple, and explain things in your own words.  Provide attribution if you are quoting material.  Never quote more than a very short excerpt.

Does your board send out email newsletters with YouTubes on them?  Embed the code in your post, and summarize the video with a few bullet points.  To write your real estate  post, simply jot down the main points as you watch the video.  Most boards will allow you to embed the YouTubes, as long as you give them the credit.  Here’s an example of a brainless  real estate post, although it might be a bit longer than necessary.

2.) Provide commentary on some real estate news you read in the newspaper.  The newspaper columnist and reporter already did the heavy lifting for you.  People will read your real estate blog to get your opinion, so don’t be afraid to give it to them.  If people leave negative comments about what you said, publish the comments anyway.  Since you are in sales and are used to rejection, your skin should already be thick enough to do this.

3.)  Spend five minutes on the phone talking to your loan officer about developments in the industry.  Spend another five minutes writing down what was said. Avoid complex jargon.  Piece ‘o cake.

Stay tuned for more brainless ideas.

Great ideas for posting. we really should be able to rely on our Board of Realtors. The information they give should be reliable and once we sumarize it should be simple to understand.

Keep a camera in the car and take photos of things around town. Use them in posts and don’t forget to use alt image text. you don’t need much text for these posts.

Great tips for a real estate blogger. The second one -to comment on real estate news- in fact will help you build authority faster in my opininon. Thanks.
