Where do I find an IDX provider for my website?

In our fair part of the country (Minneapolis,) we are not allowed to say “Search the MLS” on our websites. Because of technical distinctions and the proprietary rights of the MLS, we have to use some other terminology like “Search for Homes” or “IDX” home search. This is an awkward distinction to explain to your visitors who “just want to search the MLS.” The fact of the matter is that the IDX solution you choose might not have exactly the same data set as the MLS, they will be able to find almost all of the MLS listings through the IDX link that you install on your website. Here is an MLS service provider that I recommend:

  • Check out IDX Broker. Ask for Chad or Jeff. These guys are good to work with. Their services start at $39.99 per month. They do an excellent job of integrating the IDX with your website. What that simply means is that they will create a search page to look like the rest of your site. Their lead management tools and traffic monitoring features are easy to use. If you use this system, I recommend making the basic search as your default search so the page loads up quickly when your visitors land there. The visitors would then have the option of selecting map search or a more advanced search. Visit Lakeville Real Estate to see an example of this idx search system.
