Loretta Holscher is one Tonka Bay real estate agent that doesn’t know the meaning of the word “quit.” In fact, she may not even know how to pronounce the word. Is this an overstatement? Loretta would sooner choke than say the word “quit.” Loretta is a gal that sticks to an assignment like “white on rice!” She is more tenacious than Gorilla Glue. Recently, one of Loretta’s buyer clients closed on a home that Loretta found for her. This is one of those real estate stories with a happy ending. But this story was different; Loretta worked with this client for four years, until she found the found the perfect home for the client. Four years! Most agents would have lost patience and thrown up their hands in only a few weeks. Not Loretta! Why did it take four years? The client had some unique special needs. Also, most prospective properties were outside of her range of afford-ability. After four years of relentless home searching, Loretta found the ideal listing for her client. A home seller was defaulting on his mortgage, and needed to sell quickly, so he reduced the price well below market value. As a result, the home fell into the client’s price range. The same day that the home hit the market, Loretta wrote a winning offer for her client. Her client is grateful to this day.
Another time, Loretta had two clients who did not know where they wanted to buy. Loretta showed them homes all the way from Circle Pines to Bloomington MN. For those of you who are not familiar with the Twin Cities, these communities are on the far, opposite ends of the entire metro area. In fact, the clients finally ended up purchasing in Montgomery MN, which is another 45 minutes south of Bloomington! At one point, the clients said to her, “We wouldn’t blame you if you gave up on us.” But Loretta had to see the clients through to the end of their search. The clients were delighted with their purchase, and have become best of friends.
One time Loretta was representing a client who was trying to sell a Tonka Bay home with deeded access to Lake Minnetonka. Loretta put her best efforts into marketing this home for eight months. Finally, an offer came through, at a price that the seller initially thought was too low. However, she accepted the offer just before the Tonka Bay real estate market made a precipitous downturn! The seller was happy that Loretta helped her avert a financial disaster.
