I mean it's like anything else, right? Loads of wordpress plugins out there are super useful and well maintained and definitely an asset. But, there are definitely some that are best avoided because they wind up being more trouble than they are worth. Personally, I generally stick with the more popular well known plugins and don't have any problems. I especially appreciate some of the plugins out there for displaying images. Images are obviously important to many different kinds of sites, and the built in image functionality in wordpress is somewhat limited. There are plugins out there that make it really easy to display images in a professional manner, and that also really make it easy for even a beginner to manage libraries of images.

Yes, these developers of plug-ins have worked their tail. The plugin saves oodles of time through automation. They make the blog more professional and smooth running. Every blog owner should have a plug-in 101 training course first before running their blog.

One of the principle advantages of WordPress is that you are in control. Unlike remote-hosted scripts such as Blogger and LiveJournal, you host WordPress on your own server. Installation is very simple, as is the configuration.

I have to agree, I love all my Wordpress plug ins and the people who built/maintain them. I don't know where my website would be without them in fact!
