Brainless articles for your real estate website (Part 2) – Use YouTube!

realtor brain

As much a we like to think that real estate is rocket science, the soft market has deflated our egos to the point where we no longer believe this to be true.  Therefore, it shouldn’t be too hard to think of ways to not think about what to post on your real estate website.

A great way to cheat on your blog work  is to use YouTubes on your real estate blog.  People love ‘em.  Google loves ‘em too.  Just don’t make them longer than three minutes, or your visitors might tune out!

Here are some that come to mind:

Use them on your listings.  They look great, and installing them is faster and easier than uploading all of those individual photos you were going to use.  If you are making the movies yourself, be careful to use a tripod so you don’t make the viewers seasick.  Also, don’t take video images of the toilet or every nook and cranny in the house.  A better idea is to have your photographer convert still images into a video.

Here is an example of how one was used on a post about a Newport Coast Home in Rivage. If you want the search engines to notice your post, you should include some text below the YouTube.

2.) Embed YouTubes that civic organizations created to promote your community, then throw in a little bit of text to go with it.  You can also use these on major content pages.  Here is a Mesquite Nevada Realtor® who did just that!  Just make sure to check first to see if you are allowed to use them on your site.

3.) Take short videos of various neighborhoods in your area, and mention a little bit about the kinds of houses you see, who built them, etc.  Do enough of these, and you can turn your real estate website into a video blog that will be appreciated by buyers who are new to the area.

A word of caution:

Don’t take videos of yourself talking into the camera.  Those are too scary.  Have a professional help you if you want to do something like that.

the best thing to do is buy some cheap video editing software, (you may even have some already on your computer), and go film a bunch of shots panning the rooms. edit them together with some quiet music and you’re done. it’s a great tool and very simple to do.

That’s a great tip about videos since visitors like them, you can use them to promote your blog and you can even optimize them and get traffic through Youtube as well. It works on so many levels.

Music is copyright protected. Do you have a source for royalty free music to use for a slide show?

This market had forced us to think of new ways to market our properties. I think that craigslist and YouTube are great ways to do this. I have also started using social networking sites to expand my viewership and potential buyers as well.

You’re right, I don’t know why I don’t see more youtube videos of listings. It’s so easy to do. I see pleny of virtual tour photos, but it’s just as easy to walk around homes with a hand-held video camera. I would like to see more people in Henderson doing this.

Using youtubes is certainly the biggest eye catcher I have seen throughout blogs. It makes viewers want to stayed tuned in.

Videos work on many levels. They keep a visitor longer. They assist with SEO. If they are videos of you the Realtor, they provide an opportunity for buyers and sellers to get to know a little bit about you before they even meet you in person.

Hmmm.. You made think. Great Idea actually. It is a cheap kind of method but I think it will work out. With a related keywords for your video in you tube, people can check out your real estate video. And we all know that videos can be more fun than just reading stuffs about real estate. Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate it.
